Long drives to grandmother’s house will be much more merry when our holiday playlist comes along for the ride!
From Sleigh Bells to First Noels, it just wouldn’t be Christmas without the carols. But did you know that two beloved Christmas songs were originally written to celebrate Thanksgiving?
It’s true…Over The River And Through The Woods (aka The Thanksgiving Song) was written as a poem in the 1840s, and Jingle Bells did not become a Christmas classic until Bing Crosby recorded it in 1940, almost 100 years after it was written as an ode to Thanksgiving day!
So this Thanksgiving, as an ode to our favorite season and our favorite readers, we’ve compiled our Retro Christmas Card Co. holiday playlist – served with a side of Turkey Day songs to get you started.
