We are so excited to share the latest Christmas Collection by the Retro Christmas Card Company! It has been a joy to create these first three pieces of The Retro Christmas Village. It has been a long sought after item on my bucket list and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the results! I wanted to start by paying tribute to the most iconic of the Mid-Century Modern Home architecture; The Butterfly Roof House, The Folded Plate and the Split Level.
Our “Retro Christmas Village” houses are different from any other village house decorations that you may have seen before. They are designed to appeal to the mid-mod enthusiast and thus embrace the minimalist in all of us. They are created from flat planks of acrylic, printed in vivid colors. The process is one that allows light to pass through the windows of the homes illuminating the features and characters within. They store away flat and save space in your Christmas collectables closet. All made in the USA!
The Butterfly roof mid-century modern house features a couple preparing for the holidays. A blow mold snowman welcomes you to this MCM beauty with it’s breeze block, sputnik lamp, and papa bear chair.
It’s family time at The Folded Plate Mid-Century Modern Christmas House Mom is baking cookies while Dad finishes up the aluminum tree. Sis is enjoying her cocoa by the Malm fireplace. The folded plate is a classic MCM roof design.
There’s a party at The Split Level Mid-Century Modern House! Guests are arriving for a swanky holiday get together at this cool MCM abode that features a Jacobsen egg chair and boomerang table downstairs, and an Eames lounger and vintage bar up top.
The Retro Christmas Village Houses set up fast on two clear feet. We have displayed our collection with bottle brush trees, poly-fill tuffs of fluffy snow and added lights that illuminate the homes from behind for a magical twilight mood after dark. We love our Retro Christmas Village – A cheerful mid-mod diorama up on our floating shelves, decorated with twinkle lights. Create your own magical scene, on bookshelves or desktop, or a very special addition to a fireplace mantle! Here are a few links that will guide you to these accents:
It is my vision to grow this collection to include many more fun classic homes and also adding all the classic elements that will make up the Retro Christmas Village. Stay tuned for many more to come!
Have fun creating your very own Mid-Century Modern Cul-De-Sac!
