I’m guilty of always going on a spree to decorate everything at the holidays. I love the day that I get to sit down and address the Christmas Card envelopes. I have created a set of designs that I use to decorate my envelopes each year that I am sharing with you today. Please see the buttons at the bottom of the page for instant downloads.
Each downloadable zip file contains 8 Designs on traceable templates for:
Boomerang, Ornaments1, Ornaments 2, Tall Joy Ornament, Starry, Star Cookies, Banjo pattern, + Merry Marquee.
To transfer a design, you can use carbon paper or scribble pencil on the back of the designs to trace the image onto the envelope. Optionally use a light table or window to see through the design print. Also I have used ledr.com white page on iPad for a makeshift light box for a transparent tracing method. Tape the design in place to prevent movement and ensure a clear, accurate transfer.
- Prepare the design: Flip your drawing or printout face down.
- Apply the transfer material: Rub a carbon pencil or stick over the entire back of the drawing to cover it evenly.
- Position the design: Place the carbon-covered side of the drawing face down onto your final surface. Tape the drawing in place to secure it.
- Trace the image: Use a pen or pencil to trace over the lines of the design on the front side.
- Prepare the design: Print out the envelope design onto paper.
- Use a light table or window: Tape the design to a window or a light table.
- Trace: Trace the design onto the envelope with a pencil lightly, or if you feel confident, draw the image directly onto the envelope using your red sharpie or Silver Pilot Pen.
- Using your ink pen: Trace over your (very light) pencil line and decorate your envelopes.
