Two Tipsy Recipes...
Bourbon Balls
These no-bake beauties come from the pages of a 1954 cookbook. Just as crowd-pleasing today as they were then!
3 cups vanilla wafers (about 1 pound), crushed
1 cup pecans, finely chopped
1 cup confectioners’ sugar
3 tablespoons light corn syrup
1 1/2 tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup bourbon
Mix all ingredients thoroughly and shape into balls the size of an English walnut. Roll in confectioners’ sugar. Makes 2 1/2 to 3 dozen balls. Option, roll in coconut!
Boozy Olives
Sunset Magazine reminds us that sometimes the best part of a martini is at the bottom of the glass.
8 ounces Cerignola or other green olives, drained
1 cup gin or vodka
Splash of dry vermouth
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and chill.
Serve in martini glasses.
...And A Partridge In A Pear Tree Cocktail!
The pearfect party sip!
1 ounce pear juice
1 ounce vodka
1 ounce champagne
Pear slice, cinnamon stick, and rosemary sprig for garnish
Add pear juice and vodka into shaker with ice. Strain into chilled glass, top with champagne and garnish.
Merry Maker Tip: Add a pear, cinnamon and rosemary garnish to sparkling apple-pear cider for a dressed-up pear tree mocktail.
